The Slacker

Hello all,

Sorry for the delay in posting things on the blog. Between traveling for the holidays, having company when we got back and then non-stop thing at work, I've been too busy to update. Brady is napping right now so I'll do a quick and brief update on life.

Christmas:
Christmas was wonderful this year. Brady and I took a trip to Michigan without dad (that part wasn't so wonderful, but we got over it). Brady and I flew without daddy for the first time. It was a challenge, but we made it in one piece. We were in Michigan for 11 days. We got to see Grams and Gramps, Nanny and Papa and Grungy and lots of cousins and aunts and uncles. It was a blast. Brady loved the snow and didn't want to come inside despite the freezing cold weather. Grams bought him some snow pants and a jacket and Aunt Nicki pitched in with some boots and mittens and he was all set. It was hard to keep him inside. Some of the most fun we had though was at my mom and dad's when all three of the nephews were together. Those boys are a riot to watch and you can tell Brady genuinely loves his cousins. However the moms are dreading when they are a little older. They are going to be serious monsters...I'm sure the dads will love it.

Anniversary: This year we celebrated our four year wedding anniversary and oddly enough this was the first time we actually got to celebrate it. The previous years Nick has been working so we never got to go out and celebrate. We started the night off at my favorite place to dine, Don Diego's. After dinner we headed home to pack up our stuff and left the Bman with Grammy Enders for the night (she was out visiting and helping us tile our patio, which looks amazing). Grammy drove us to Brett and Katie's and we rang the New Year in with friends and coined the new phrase "Zolo." Drunk Jesse without her glasses thought Katie wrote Zolo and it was 2010, who knew LOL. After festivities were over we stayed the night at a hotel and actually got a full night sleep and slept in. it's the simple things we cherish now ;-).

Work:
Work has been very busy for both of us and me especially. I've taken on a more active role with the marketing and have been working a lot more events. It's given me some great exposure to new opportunities so we'll see where that takes us. I've also been doing some volunteer work by giving Financial Aid presentations to high schools. I guess the saying "Once you're in financial aid you never leave" is true. That's not such a bad thing though.

Pictures:
I know i have been neglectful of posting photos, but have no fear they are coming soon. I now have November and December uploaded to Snapfish and will send soon. We haven't snapped many in January as we haven't been around to take many photos and let's face it, Brady no longer holds still long enough for photos.

Now for the part you've all been waiting to hear about, Brady (i entered all the other stuff first, because I know many of you would just skip right to Brady LOL).

Brady is a true joy and a monster all wrapped up into one. Each day he learns something new, says something different and expands the length of his sentences. It's incredible how audible he is. I can't get over his grasp of language. He never stops talking, understands everything and knows what he wants. That last part has been very helpful, but now also a bad thing in stores when he can tell you exactly what he wants. To add to his sentence speaking, Brady has now started counting. He can do 1,2,3 always skips four and either goes to five and six or gets stuck on three. It's incredible to see how his mind develops. He's also playing with his toys more now that we got the organizer in the living room and he can see everything. Our living room officially looks like a pre-school now and our patio a playground. It's fun though. He still doesn't sleep through the night though and is now battling croup which really doesn't help the sleeping, but we're hopeful he won't always be like his mother and one day he will sleep. He's also grown a lot since his last visit. We took him in on Dec. 29th for his updated shots and he had grown an inch and a half and gained a few pounds. When taking him to the doc for his croup he had gained another pound and is even taller. We didn't have him measured on that trip, but i can tell in his pants, they are starting to look like flood pants. Side not to grammys, if you're reading this Bman needs all things in size 24 month, 2T (hehhehe).

Other than that, life is pretty good, we've got our own dramas, but in the big scheme of things we feel very happy and blessed and thank each of you for being in our lives. Here's hoping 2010 (ZOLO) is amazing for all of you.
