Brady Sucks His Thumb

Brady's Workout Video

Weekly Weigh-In Week 7

He did it again, Brady gained another pound this week. He is now 11lbs 13 ounces. He was at 11lbs 14.9 ounces, but then he had a giant poopy and it brought him down a couple of ounces. The good thing is now that he is so big he can finally fit into the outfit we originally bought for him to wear home from the hospital. He looks so darn cute! It was too hot to put the entire outfit on so the photo op will have to settle for his onesie only. It reads "My Lil Peanut" seeing as how Nick and I always called him peanut while in the womb we thought it only fitting for him to have an outfit. It came with an adorable hat, booties and hand mitts, can't wait to try them all out together. Hope you enjoy.

Congrats to the Balster Family

Congrats Matt and Laci on your new arrival, Maxton Lavern Balster. He arrived at 11:10pm on July 23rd and was 9.5lbs. Nick and I are so happy for you guys and can't wait to meet Maxton in a few weeks. We're looking forward to seeing lots of pictures in the meantime. We're also glad all went well and everyone is fine! Congrats again and best wishes!

Weekly Weigh-In Week 6

Brady continues to amaze Nick and I with his weight gain. He gained almost another pound this week which puts him at 10lbs 13ounces. He is getting so chubby, it's adorable. His cute little chubby cheeks are now turning into BIG chubby cheeks. His belly isn't too far behind the cheeks either. When we were at the Big Bear Farmer's Market one of the vendors called him a buda baby!

Big Bear Vacation

We took a mini-vacation to Big Bear Lake this week with Grandma and Grandpa Lehman and it was wonderful and relaxing. Our cottage was the same cottage we stayed at for our ski trip in February. It's a three bedroom, two bath, two story house; not quite the same as our cottage in Northern Michigan. Nick and Grandpa rented a fishing boat and went out on the lake one day while Grandma, Brady and I took a few walks and relaxed around the cabin. We all went to the lake on our second day and Grandma and I took Brady on the Boardwalks and to the farmers' market while Dad and Grandpa fished. Again it was so beautiful and relaxing. One of the best parts was we were able to escape the heat. It was only in the 80's up there. I think the grandparents enjoyed the reprieve from the harsh desert climate.

It was amazing to see Brady's reaction to the outdoors. Being so hot in the desert he rarely gets to venture outside. Based on his reaction to the wind, sun, and sounds of nature I think he's going to be a lot like his dad and love the great outdoors. Like a true outdoors man, we also introduced Brady to fishing, I think he likes it. We can't wait to get Brady and cousin Jack fishing together in August. Grandpa has already been talking about bringing back the father daughter fishing trips we used to go on except now we have to add the boys!

The Weekly Weigh-In...Week 5

Today was our weekly weigh-in and Brady is still packing on the pounds. With his clothes on he was at 10 pounds 3 ounces. He is continuing his trend of gaining a pound a week. Some of the moms who were having some problems at the group were all jealous of how well he is doing. The lactation specialist was very proud of him! I'm a little worried though if he keeps this trend going. The funny part is he still has a hard time fitting into any of the 0-3 month clothing and is still primarily wearing newborn clothes. He can fit into some 0-3 onesies, but that's about it. He has a very long torso and big buda belly to hide the poundage. Attached is a picture of him today in his half jack-pine half preppy boy outfit...gottah love the camo.
